Hopeful
I met with Dr G today...I really like him and I think he is a great physician. To sum up my appointment, I did not respond to Clomid last month. He was pleased with my BBT (Basal Body Temperature) log and he wants me to continue doing that. He asked me if I had considered losing weight or if I have tried, I said yes and that is actually something I wanted to talk to you about. He decided to start me on an appetite suppressant, which I actually have been on in the past, but quit taking because of trying to get pregnant and he said he would be able to monitor me while I was on it so that I would not harm the baby. He also started me on Glucophage, which is typically a diabetic medication but it works really well for women with PCOS because of our insulin deficiency and it helps increase our metabolism and decrease our weight!! I will not be able to get these prescriptions filled until Monday so I will start them then. He also wanted me to follow the insulin resistance diet, which is great because I just bought that book for myself this week and I have asked the dietitian I work with to help me and get me as much info as possible. Dr G told me he knows he can help me lose 30-40 pounds and a lot of time, he has seen people get pregnant just by doing this...so, I'm ready and hoping this will all work. Please keep praying for me. He wants me to exercise everyday and I have been doing pretty well with that on my days off, but it is rather difficult when I work 13 hours a day. I'm also hoping that I can get Jason on board with me so that he can lose weight and be healthy too, for our precious baby!
