I will probably only update once a week, simply because at this current time, I am on a different journey...and that's a weight loss journey...it's just a little path created off my big path to motherhood that God has in store for me. So, since May 15th, I have been following the Insulin Resistance Diet to the best of my ability, taking my daily medications (fish oil, prenatal vitamin, phentermine, and glucophage), and exercising (mainly walking 2 miles on the treadmill or doing 4 miles on the stationary bike) everyday. Obviously something is working because I have lost 12 pounds! I'm not saying it's easy, but I think the phentermine has helped curb my appetite and even though I am not suppose to weigh myself everyday, I found myself doing so, just to motivate me and keep me focused everyday. Next Monday, I will increase my glucophage dose to 2 tablets (1000mg) and I am interested to see if I have any effects from that. It is sometimes known to regulate menstrual cycles in women with PCOS and that is what I am really hoping for, so we will see. Please continue praying for me as I am battling the pounds! I will keep you posted.
Another request I have is I am a little bit concerned about my energy level. My energy level is at an ultimate low and I am not quite sure. I would think with exercising, eating better, and losing 12 pounds that it would increase but it definitely has not. I am not sure if I am not getting enough calories that I should, if my body is just in shock from everything it is enduring, or if it's related to my medications. I am keeping track and if it doesn't get better, I will probably call Dr G to ask if I need to be concerned or change something around.
As always, thank you for your continued prayers. The verse I want to share tonight is one that one of my mentors and biggest supporters in this journey sent me, Psalm 27:14 "Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."
I am waiting Lord.....I am patiently waiting.....
oh my gosh, Tara thats GREAT!!! Congratulations. I understand the low energy levels, even with my B12, I'm still very tired and have little energy most days. But I am so proud of you, 12lbs, thats just amazing. Keep it up! I love you
