Day 1

As you all know I started the Prometrium (progesterone) pills last Monday and the reason I had to take this medicine was to make my body have a menstrual cycle. Well, today I started my period. Let me tell you, a girl has never been as excited as I was today : ). And now that the stomach cramps have started....I am not sure how excited I am anymore, haha. I called my doctor's office to speak with the nurse and to schedule my first ultrasound which is to take place on Wednesday, Day 3. She made me a little nervous, because she was a little confused as to what my OB/GYN's orders were by looking at the chart and he isn't going to be in the office Wednesday to perform the ultrasound. She told me though, that with my insurance, it was best for me to have it done at Womens & Children's, which the good news is, that's where I work, so it will be convenient. I am scheduled to work that day, so I called OB ultrasound today to schedule my appointment, as well as, try to work out something that'll work with my schedule that day. The bad news is that she didn't answer and never returned my call, so I will try again tomorrow. I hope this isn't a sign of the road we have ahead of us. I did some research today to try to determine the reason for starting Clomid (the pill to make me ovulate) on Day 3 as well as get an ultrasound and it looks as if they do it to take a look at my ovaries and check for cysts due to me having PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome). The Day 3 ultrasound serves as baseline so that they can ensure the Clomid doesn't cause a mass production of cysts. It sounds like it is optional, but I have to say I am thankful my doctor is doing it. I have to admit, I am very nervous, but I am also excited. I am holding on to my faith and asking God to watch over us, as it looks like we are truly on the journey to pregnancy!

Hebrews 11:1 "Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see"
